Using the logo programming language in MicroWorlds encourages students into
creative play.  Once they learn some of the commands, they instinctively begin
to manipulate them to find what else they can do.  The programming forces kids
to "seek accuracy"  in their work and to think logically about the process of
what they want to have happen.  The problem solving that goes on is endless
AND valuable.  

Even though I have no intention of creating "little programmers,"  some
students become entranced by what the language can do and take it to great
lengths.  For others, the problem solving they have done in the course of a
project is sufficient.
